Shopping for your wedding vendors can be a little intimidating initially. Knowing what vendors you will need, what they actually do, and if what they are quoting you is reasonable can give you pause. We have a few tips on how you can set yourself up for success with being sure you get the vendors you want and need for your wedding day.

Set a budget
Set a budget, but be flexible. You won’t know how much to set for each specific vendor you are interested in hiring. However, you do know what you can and cannot afford. Once you speak with a few wedding vendors, you will have at better understanding of what their services can cost.
Prioritize your top 3
Prioritize your top three preferences, whether that is for the overall wedding or in the particular area you are researching at the moment. If you have 6 wedding photographers in your scope, do yourself a favor and cut the list down before you begin attempting to make contact. You will undoubtedly confuse yourself on what each is offering and could sign up for someone you initially didn’t want.

Go after what attracts you
Go after what you seem to be most connected to and not who people tell you that you should use. The same rule that applies to shopping for clothing can and should apply for your wedding vendors: If you can’t see yourself wearing it, don’t buy it. You get what we are saying, right? If you aren’t connected to your vendors or what they give, it may not be for you.
Stalk your vendors
Stalk the vendors you like the most. If you have come to a crossroad and aren’t sure which way to go, or which vendor to choose, stalk them for a little while. We all want and need you on our Instagram page. It helps the algorithm. But no seriously, we wouldn’t put it out there if we didn’t want you to fall in love with it. We also want you to be sure you want our services.
Pay attention
Be sure you are paying attention to the vendors you are choosing to work with for your wedding. Business style and personality make a world of difference. If you are going to cringe every time you speak with your wedding vendor, you aren’t going to enjoy them being a part of your wedding day.
If you use these tips as your guide for shopping for your wedding vendors, you cannot go wrong. We know wedding planning can sometimes seem like a lot, and it is, but as long as your pace yourself and develop a plan, you will be fine.
Until next time…
be sweet & happy planning!
