When it comes to planning your wedding, you quickly come to realize that there are so many ideas to explore and so little time to do it. One of the areas there is no shortage of information is with your decisions surrounding food. The best way to go about completing the tasks related to this subject is by selecting your wedding day caterer. We have a few tips on how you can best secure this vendor and cover this area of your wedding with ease.

Shop
Our suggestion with shopping for any wedding vendor is always about going after what you are attracted to. If you have found your potential wedding vendors’ social media pages or websites, dive in. Look around and see if you connect with what you are seeing. We as vendors are always going to put out the best of what we have. We want you to see what we can do, and the way we share that is by showing off the photos of what we have already done. If you are liking what you are seeing, that’s progress. But, before you sign your wedding day dreams away, attempt some type of actual interaction.
Taste
Make contact with this caterer. That might start with completing an inquiry via their website or by calling them. Even if you don’t get the opportunity to talk with the chef or the owner right away, you can gain firsthand knowledge of how the vendor and their team work. If they have peeked your interest, why not check into their options of how their tastings work. There is nothing that would solidify your decision more than the taste of the food prepared by the caterer in question. We always feel that presentation is everything. So if the look of the food and the smell of the food have you anticipating the taste of the food, you are on the right track.
Flexibility with ideas
At this point, you have spoken with the caterer and tasted what magic they can produce in the kitchen If you have your sights set on a specific caterer, but your heart is torn because they don’t do a specific dish the way you like it, you will need to weigh your options. Determine if the services of the caterer and all you have experienced thus far outweighs your desire for that specific dish. If your connection to that dish has nothing to do with your wedding and has no significance to your love story, you may need to ditch it. If that caterer has your attention, odds are there is something your taste buds have already approved.
We hope we have shared some great tips on how you can successfully retain your wedding day catering team. One of the vendors we feel every couple should have fun selecting is the caterer. There is no reason a good time cannot be experienced when great food is involved.
Until next time…
be sweet & happy planning!
