You have gotten engaged and are now covered in all types of wedding day inspiration. Someone suggested you check Pinterest for inspiration and down the rabbit hole you went. We know how it happens. It happens to us as well. We have also seen the increase in commercials from Pinterest, so they are inviting us back for even more. It is a never-ending source of amazing information. Wedding planning with Pinterest seems like a no brainer. But we have to tell you that there are a few things Pinterest does not readily share. If you can keep these things top of mind as you scroll through Pinterest, you will have an amazing planning process.

Cost
Pinterest can make it seem as though there is no limit to what you can get. But that just isn’t true. Many of the images you see on Pinterest are from elaborate, high-end weddings. While Pinterest can be great for inspiration, remember that many of the images you see are professionally styled and photographed. Setting a realistic budget and prioritizing design aspects that are most important is where you should start. Pin what inspires you, but zone in on what you truly love about the image you are pinning. This helps you communicate your wants if faced with a price tag your budget does not completely agree with.
Personalization
Pinterest is full of trendy wedding ideas, but it’s important to remember to make your wedding day personal to you and your partner. Don’t feel like you have to follow every trend. Instead, think about what’s important to you as a couple. Figure out how you can incorporate those elements into your wedding day. Focus on creating a day that reflects you and your partner’s unique style and personalities.
Time & Logistics
Pinterest can make it easy to get lost in the pretty details. It is important to not forget about the logistics of your wedding day. Planning a wedding takes a lot of time and effort. Some of the Pinterest-worthy ideas you see may be very time-consuming or difficult to execute. Be prepared to invest time into your wedding planning process and to make decisions based on what works best for your schedule. Consider things like guest accommodations, transportation, location, and the flow of the day to ensure a smooth and stress-free wedding day.
Our mission with this post was to be sure you knew exactly what you were heading into when pulling inspiration from Pinterest. While it is a hub from some of the best and most beautiful creativity the internet has to offer, if not used properly it can be heartbreaking. Pin responsibly, and have a very happy wedding planning experience.
Until next time…
be sweet & happy planning!
