Planning a wedding can be an exciting but daunting task. We think compartmentalizing the many aspects of your wedding into more attainable objectives is the best way to handle all that comes with planning a day this grand. Today, we are sharing 5 simple steps to help you plan your wedding with a bit more ease.

Set a budget
The very first step in planning your wedding is going to always be determining your budget. Decide between you, your fiancé, and anyone else planning to contribute to this beautiful day what the overall financial commitment will be before you do anything. This will help you determine what you can afford and guide your decisions as you plan. We know you might not know what an acceptable amount is for your wedding, but you do know how much you are willing and able to contribute to the occasion. Once you have a budget in mind, stick to it as closely as possible.
Choose a date and venue
Determining a date and a venue go hand in hand because you may find that one will dictate the other. If you are in awe of a venue and the initial date you select isn’t available, you may decide that your date is flexible. If the date is more important to you than the venue, be sure you have a few venues in mind as you shop. Be sure that your chosen a date for your wedding and the selected venue fits within your budget. Consider the number of guests you will be inviting and the atmosphere you want to create. While shopping these venues, read their reviews from other couples who have held their wedding there. It could help in deciding how to move forward, or at the very least give questions to ask on your tour.

Hire vendors
Once you’ve chosen a venue, start hiring vendors. Obviously because we are planners and designers, we suggest the first vendor you hire is a planner. We aren’t saying for reasons you may think, but because this is the vendor that will help you navigate through all of the other vendors and areas of the planning process. A planner can tell you which vendors you will need based on your desires for the wedding and keep you from meeting with those that won’t fit your needs. This can include a caterer, photographer, florist, and any other vendors you may need for your wedding.

Choose your wedding attire
Start shopping for your wedding attire, including your wedding dress, groom’s tux, bridesmaids’ dresses, and groomsmen attire. Look for dresses, tuxes, and suits that fit your style. Make sure to leave plenty of time for alterations and fittings. We know you want everything to look perfect and feel great, and one area you do not want to rush is attire.
Plan the details
Once you have the big items taken care of, start planning the details. This includes choosing a wedding cake, selecting music for the ceremony and reception, and creating a timeline for the day. If you hired a planner, these aren’t details you have to figure on your own. A planner will make sure to communicate efficiently with your vendors to ensure everyone is on the same page throughout the entire planning process.
Remember to stay organized and keep track of all your appointments, deadlines, and payments. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but with these 5 simple steps, you’ll be on your way to a beautiful and memorable day.
Until next time…
be sweet & happy planning!
