Weddings are full of so many intricate details that range from the grandest of elements to the tiniest little pieces. We can talk all day about the larger parts of the wedding day, but it’s the small pieces that are what we often carry with us the longest. Those details are usually based on the items that are closest to your heart. They are also the items your photographer will want to have so they can include them in your detail shots. In today’s blog post, we talk about the top 10 wedding day details to focus on. These are items or moments you might find you want to be sure you take special care of for wedding day.
Rings
It goes without saying that your wedding rings will be a part of the list of detail items you make plans for. Your rings are a symbol of your ever-growing love, commitment, and devotion to one another. The style of your wedding rings speak to who you are as a couple.
Earrings
The perfect pair of earrings already mean so much to a girl. So of course, whichever pair reach the approval of being paired with your wedding gown will need their own personal photo shoot.
Cufflinks
Nothing is as special to a man’s ensemble as cufflinks. The cufflinks you choose to level up your tux speaks volumes to the bespoke agenda of your attire. We are sure yours will be second to none, and you will definitely want them in your detail shots.
Perfume/Cologne
One of the things that my husband and I talk about all of the time is the cologne he wore on our wedding day. We have been married for 18 years at the time of this post. We think it may be safe to say that this is a pretty important detail to capture as well.
Makeup/Hair
Whether it is the makeup artist, the hairstylist, or the barber, we love to see the beauty enhanced and it is something that every bride and groom take special care of.
Dress
This is the detail to withstand all other details. Out of all of the wedding day details to focus on, this one wins for us every time. It’s the moment, along with the wedding cake, that everyone cannot wait to see. The dress in all it’s glory being photographed takes the bride to a special place each and every time she sees it.
Tux
If there was ever a time to “match her fly,” this is it! We want our grooms to look amazing on wedding day as well, so tap in to what you deem unforgettably stylish enough for you to walk into forever in.
Shoes
The shoes most often for weddings get their own spotlight. To be chosen to walk you down the aisle is a big deal, so choosing shoes worthy of sharing the show is big.
Bouquet
As a florist, we want to be sure we get the idea of the bouquet absolutely perfect. Everything the bride has as she walks down the aisle is attached to the goal of perfection. This to us is at the top of the list of the 10 wedding day details to focus on simply because we create this with the bride in mind. This makes us a bit partial, but we are okay with that.
Vow Book
We love the idea of couples writing their own vows, and a good vow book allows you to do it with so much style. In case the photographer isn’t able to get a great shot while at the altar, you should definitely include them in your detail shots.
We find this list is what we see most use in detail shots, as these are the items that couples tend to care the most about. Of course, there are more than 10 wedding day details to focus on, but we wanted to share those most seen. So as you plan out your wedding, take special care of the items you hold the closest to your heart. This way, when the photographer requests your items you don’t have to figure it out.
