Congratulations on your recent engagement! We are so genuinely excited for you. We love weddings and anything associated with love (and gooey-ness). The first things couple do is decide on a wedding date. There’s a great deal of detail that will go into where you as a couple land. We would like to share a few ideas that may help you skip past your potential back and forth.

Vision
When you visualize your wedding day, what do you see? Is there a garden, a church, or a ballroom? Are there flowers and trees, or low light with candles? Thinking about what you see in your daydream helps you center in on the specifics of what you want, and therefore what time of year you have already deemed of great importance to you. If you saw a garden, if you aren’t attempting to create a garden inside the venue you may be subconsciously desiring a spring or fall wedding.
Budget
Deciding on what you can afford to spend for your wedding is the beginning of it all. We know you won’t quite know what to expect as it relates to what things will cost, but you do know how much of your money you are willing to comfortably part with. Your wedding budget gives you the answer to what you can and cannot do for your wedding, as well as when you can do it. Determining what your overall cost will not exceed, and looking at how long it will take you to hit that number, gives you a time frame for your wedding date.

Availability
One of the things you will have to decide on is whether or not you will base your date on the date or the availability of your “not up for debate” necessities. Let’s take the venue for example. Venues fill up pretty fast, so if you have your heart set on a specific date and venue, but the venue is no longer available for your date, you will have to decide if you will change your date to one available at the venue or set your sights on other venues.
We feel that as long as you start with these basics, you are sure to breeze through this task with so much confidence.
Until next time…
be sweet & happy planning!
