Tierni & Maurice
This is a post about one of our couples’ wedding day desires, their testimonial about our services, and our takeaways from the experience.
Whenever we begin the dating process with potential clients, we always ask about their top 3 “must haves” for their wedding day. Tierni and Maurice told us their top 3 must haves for wedding day were food, ambiance, & décor.
Tierni wanted a very small and intimate wedding and reception with initially only 60 people. She wanted her guests to enjoy themselves and she felt the way to their hearts was through their stomachs and their eyes, while being entertained. Maurice wanted Tierni to have what she wanted.

Darius and Tish are AMAZING!!!!! Okay let’s start with the beginning. A year ago, Maurice and I got engaged. I have always wanted a beautiful wedding but didn’t know where to start. Okay, I googled wedding planner near me and SIMONEELISEEVENTS came up with a 5.0 and all wonderful, loving reviews. I called, left a message and they called me right back!
From that first phone call, I knew I was in good hands. Tish OMG! She is firm and mean what she say but also very gentle, patient, thorough and loving. Her and Darius made sure to let us know about every detail. That included the smallest to the biggest detail. We met every month on zoom discussing details, making changes and adding things. Tish and Darius showed us pictures and designs to choose from. As they was showing us different things she made sure to let us know, “okay Tierni, those flowers can be a little more expensive than the others or that pipe and drape is expensive but this is your day lol.” The whole time Maurice is giving me the side eye.
Tish maybe didn’t see this moment, Maurice and I were doing the first look. My photographer handed me my bouquet and that’s when the tears started. It was beautiful and big with REAL flowers! My ceremony and reception decor was very beautiful, I cried when I saw the reception room for the first time.
The night before I was so nervous and worried, Tish sent me a sweet morning message and I felt a little better. The entire day went smoothly. What impressed us the most was how caring and compassionate Tish and Darius were during the whole planning process. That meant a lot to us.
It’s impossible to plan a wedding without a wedding planner. If any couple is looking for a wedding planner, this couple is your go to. I promise you can not go wrong with them. They were amazing to us! Thanks so much Darius and Tish!
One thing that stuck out for us…
Working with Tierni and Maurice was really special. We always find something special and unique about our clients and for us it was Tierni and Maurice’s giant hearts. Tierni by trade is a caregiver in the medical field. The love she has for her family feels and looks no different than what she extends to anyone else around. We find that those who give so much from within often forego care for themselves. That’s when Maurice, her knight in shining armor, would kick into gear. He takes care of Tierni without her even noticing she is being refueled. It is so automatic. We believe he knows that laughter is good for the soul and he kept a smile on her beautiful face the entire time. These two have such a fascinating magic between them.
We look forward to sharing love stories about as much as we love being a part of them.
