Choosing a style for your bridal gown can become quite overwhelming. You want the perfect dress for the perfect day, and we understand that. We want you to feel absolutely beautiful on your wedding day. It is what you deserve. Therefore, we are going to share a few tips for you on choosing the style of your wedding dress.
First, determine your wedding theme. The style of your dress should match the overall theme of your wedding and the venue you’ve chosen. If leaning on tradition, a grand ballroom deserves a grandeur ball gown the same way a trumpet styled wedding gown would look amazing for a wedding at a museum. While we are on the subject, you need to decide on what you want. If you are not crazy about lace or embroidery, minimal elegance may be what you want to focus your sights on. Pay close attention to all of the details on each dress you consider, such as the neckline, sleeves, and embellishments. Make sure they match your personal style and the overall look you are going for.
Second, consider your body type. Choose a dress style that flatters not only your style, but also your body type. A-line dresses are universally flattering, while ball gowns are great for creating an hourglass shape. If you’re petite, consider a sheath dress, and if you’re curvy, try a mermaid or fit-and-flare style.
Third, look for inspiration and be open when trying dresses on. Browse bridal magazines and wedding blogs to get an idea of the styles you like. Create a Pinterest board to save your favorite dresses and take these ideas with you when you go shopping. Visit bridal shops and try on different styles to see what looks best on you. Bring a trusted and knowledgeable friend or family member for a second opinion.
Finally, remember, the most important thing is that you feel beautiful and comfortable in your wedding dress. Choose a style that makes you feel confident and happy on your special day!
