Have you ever hear the term “the best laid plans” and wondered what it meant? When least expected your plans can change due to things completely out of your control. The weather, rental issues, you name it…anything can happen. What we want to cover today are a few things for you to have in the back of your mind/plans as a contingency if you have a big “IF” for your current outside wedding endeavors.
When you are shopping for a venue and the intention is the have an outdoor wedding, be sure the venue has accommodations for your guest count should you be forced to go indoors.
The décor you planned for outside may not work indoors…i.e. large or extra large décor. Even with that sometimes you may have to ensure that your vendor will allow a move from outside to in of their equipment. Also, would they charge additional fees for that service. Things you may need to think about.
You may want to think about elongating cocktail hours which include the DJ and the bartender. Updating your sequence of events if you have special reception activities, announcement, dance routines. Or changing the start and end times for your reception meal is also a consideration to make sure to have a plan for.
All of these things are just small iterations of what you have to take into consideration with outdoor weddings. When you hire a professional wedding planner these are the things that we go over with you to always have your basis covered. Happy planning!
Until next time…
be sweet & happy planning!
